A cotton hammock rarely needs washing. We recommend washing the hammock by hand or machine at your own risk.

Hand wash (recommended)

It is best to wash your Hamacama cotton mesh hammock by hand only.

The easiest way to do this is to wash your hair:

  1. Fill the washbasin with warm water, add some shampoo and knead the hammock thoroughly in this wash water.
  2. Drain the wash water and rinse the shampoo thoroughly out of the hammock with warm tap water.
  3. Wring out the hammock well and spread it out on the drying rack to dry. Do not put it in the tumble dryer!
  4. Only roll up and store the hammock when it is completely dry.

Material information

  • The lying surfaces of the Hamacama hammocks are made of 100% cotton and are colorfast. The suspension cords of the hammocks are made of nylon for stability.
  • The lying surfaces of the Heaven hammocks are made of mercerized cotton, which is even more resistant to washing than normal cotton.

Can I machine wash a cotton mesh hammock?

Washing in the washing machine poses two dangers for cotton mesh hammocks.

The first danger is that the hammock will become so tangled that it cannot be untangled unless it is tied tightly.

The second danger is that the mesh fabric is stretched and stretched differently in the machine and thus loses its shape.

If you want to take the risk, tie the ends of the hammock tightly together and wrap it in a laundry bag to protect it.

Although we personally machine wash our hammocks, we cannot guarantee that machine washing will not damage your hammock.
