A New Transportable Bed
Great sleep for little money and location independent
The Hamacama Classic has lower material costs compared to the Hamacama Strong and a shorter weaving time compared to the Hamacama Heaven. The hammock is cheaper to produce, yet offers an excellent lying feeling. This sleep hammock is therefore ideal for Power Naps.
Tip: The Hamacama Classic is the perfect hammock to boost your productivity in the office with 20-minute power naps. It can be set up and taken down in seconds and takes up little space in your office and in your bag. You have enough room to lie comfortably and the rocking motion helps you fall asleep.
Compact and Lightweight
Only 1.3 KG (2.8 lbs), compact size, easily transportable, and good for outdoor use
The lightweight Hamacama Classic can easily be put in your bag (cotton bag included) to move your enjoyment to another place.
You take comfort and relaxation with you to the lake, into the forest, on your trip, to the garden party of your friends or to festivals.
The Hamacama Classic is suitable for sleeping outside, but should not be hung outside permanently, as the cotton threads are not UV and moisture resistant.

Ways To Hang
How to hang a Classic Hammock at Home or Outside?
Wall Suspension (Recommended)
The best way to hang your Hamacama Classic is between two load-bearing walls (see advantages of a wall suspension) using two anchor points. The hammock should hang like a banana, and you will lie diagonally in it.
Comments to the numbers in the illustration:
1 | Install sturdy anchor points like Screws () or La Siesta CasaMount () |
2 | Use two carabiners () or Super Ropes () to protect your hammock from wear. Additionally, you will be able to mount and unmount hammock quickly. |
3 | For safety reasons lowest point of the hammock should be at knee height (see also 4 rules for suspending a hammock) |
4 | Plan an additional 2 m (6.5 feet) space to allow your hammock to swing |
5 | Use Ropes () or Super Ropes () to connect your hammock to suspension points. Theoretically, you could use carabiners to directly connect the hammock to the anchor points; however, lying in the hammock will not feel as good and soft. |
6 | Make sure the hammock hangs in the shape of a banana and everything will be fine. The hanging angle will be between 30° and 45° |
7 | Tip: It is better to install anchor points too high than too low. This is because ropes give you room for adjustment. It’s best to drill in the top third of the wall (see also Where should I drill?). Take care to have both anchor points at the same height. |
8 | The distance between wall anchor points should be min. 380 cm (150 inches) |
Ceiling Suspension
Are you less than 175 cm (5’9) tall? Then you can use your Classic Hammock with a ceiling suspension (see also the advantages of a ceiling suspension). Then the hammock hangs like a swing and you lie crosswise in it.
Comments to the numbers in the illustration:
1 | Install sturdy anchor points like the Screws () or La Siesta CasaMount () |
2 | Use two carabiners () or the Super Ropes () to protect your hammock from wear. Additionally, you will be able to mount and unmount the hammock quickly. |
3 | For safety reasons the lowest point of the hammock should be at knee height (see also 4 rules for suspending a hammock) |
4 | Plan an additional 2-3 m (6.5 feet) space to allow your hammock to swing |
5 | The wider the hammock hangs the better. The hanging angle will then be between 45° and 75° |
6 | The distance between the ceiling anchor points should be min. 290 cm (115 inches) |
Trees or Beams
The Classic Hammock is not weatherproof and should not be hung outside overnight. But of course, you can take the hammock to the lake, the woods or anywhere else for a nap.
Comments to the numbers in the illustration:
1 4 | Use the Hamacama Ropes () with strangulating loop (see loop knot instructions) on two stable attachment points (trees, pillar, beam, etc.). To protect sensitive wooden beams or tree bark use tree straps. |
2 | You don’t necessarily need a carabiner because you can easily connect rope and hammock using the Becket Hitch |
3 | For safety reasons the lowest point of the hammock should be at knee height (see also 4 rules for suspending a hammock) |
5 | Distance (Classic): approx. 380 cm (150 inches) |
